Lagos, Nigeria

Temporary accommodations in Lagos were the same as used by Parliament when in session. During our 2 weeks in-country orientation we had ample opportunity for making friends, sightseeing, and shopping.

This is Daniel, our Nigerian bus driver, with volunteer Ed Pautienus and the Ikoyi Hotel where we had our meals during this period.

Typical scenes were Nigerian fishermen at the marina,The Carter Bridge, and views of the city.

The Aiyo Festival in Lagos could be an unnerving experience, at least for those intimidated by the stick-wielding and ghostly-garbed participants or the towering fellow on stilts.
