Awo-Omamma

I was very fortunate to arrive in Zaria on the very day the Sardauna of Sokoto,
the Premier of the Northern Region, was to visit.

Here he could stop and pray at his own private little mosque.

It seems that many of the wealthy
and powerful of the city turned out
on horseback to greet the Sardauna.
This was complete with warriors,
trumpeters, and snake charmers.

At last, the Premiere! ...
but you had to look fast
before he whisked by
in his big white caddy.
