At Baro loading up a freighter on the Niger River with
the pyramids of peanuts was accomplished at a grueling pace. For hours
on end workers would run down and up the river bank loading the cargo.
To set the pace and maintain the momentum a quartet of drummers pounded
out the beat nonstop.
Following this performance I lashed my scooter to the
front of this overloaded and top heavy canoe for a trip down the Niger
towards Awo Omamma and the final session at Community Grammar School.
