Roadside grave sites were occasionally observed, here
for a man and wife and at the entrance to a nearby village, a much more
elaborate gravestone for the former chief of the village.
Fortunately, Peace Corps volunteers had the benefit of a
comprehensive medical kit and an in-country doctor if needed. It was not
necessary to make use of local practitioners.
