Lying in tropical rain forest, our two seasons were hot
and rainy. A four day torrential downpour typifies the extreme of the rainy
season. A short distance from school property was a stream. Although on
more than one occasion I observed snakes in and along the stream it was
much used by some of the local villagers for bathing and washing clothes
or other items.
