Awo-Omamma

CGS was a private coed school in contrast to other government or religious organization based schools. It was, in fact, owned by Dr. B.U. Nzeribe, a member of parliament. The grounds were well maintained (principally by students).


The boys volleyball team was part of a very active athletic program which also included tennis, soccer, and track. Competition with other schools and occasionally with faculty was always intense.


It seemed that local music was always readily available. Augustin, the woodcarver from Benin,
plays the guitar. Ben, the nightwatch, plays a stringed instrument and John, another nightwatch,
plays "Orca" music.
